Sparrowhawk Studio

Louisa is an artist and lighting designer based in London.

Louisa needed a portfolio website to display her work in lighting design, commissioned art and photography.

The home page opens on a low res video of some of Louisas work on the 201 Dance Company, keeping the minimalist feel with only a few elements on the screen all with a purpose.

The menu is a mega menu with the Sparrowhawk logo being the clickable element to display the full screen menu. From inside this menu you can navigate to any page on the site.

Each project page has it’s own image slider that auto scrolls through its contents and on click becomes a lightbox. These image galleries are also used in the artists page, photography page and elsewhere around the website.

I optomised all the images for the web before uploading them to the website and use lasy loading to keep the website running as fast as it can.

The end result is great and I’m excited to see it be out to use.

At the time of publication, this was one of the biggest websites I have built with;

200+ images

26 image galleries

32 published pages

slab:studio host the website and also provide a monthly update and weekly back up service.
